The Introduced New Suzuki Swift

A new generation of Suzuki Swift has been introduced in Japan and orders have already started. The premiere of the European version of the hatchback will be held next spring.

After the change of generations, Swift became shorter and lower by 10 mm compared to the previous generation – now the length of the car is 3,840 mm and the height is 1,500 mm. The wheelbase has increased by 20 mm – up to 2,450 mm, and the width has not changed – 1,695 mm. judging by the lack of images of the three-door version of the model, they probably decided to abandon it.

The model is equipped with LED optics. In addition, the design of the radiator grill depends on the configuration: the initial versions with horizontal dies, while the RS versions are equipped with grills with a honeycomb pattern.

In Japan, the new generation Suzuki Swift will be sold with a 1.0-liter Booster jet gasoline engine and a 91-liter 1.2-liter turbo engine. The first works in tandem with an automatic transmission, for the second a manual or CVT is available. The hatch will be available in front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.

A smart hybrid version of the Suzuki Swift will also be offered, including a 1.2-liter engine and an electric motor with 3.1 hp. The system also uses an integrated starter-generator, and energy is generated through the recovery of kinetic braking energy.

All options except Swift’s original equipment include a safety package with a collision avoidance system, emergency automatic braking, automatic high beam, adaptive cruise control.

As mentioned above, brand dealers are already taking orders, and deliveries are scheduled for January 4. The new generation of Suzuki Swift is in the Japanese market from 1,343,520 yen (about 699,000 rubles).

The premiere of the European version of the new Suzuki Swift will take place at the Geneva Motor Show in March next year. The company plans to start selling in another new products – the Suzuki Inns crossover the assembly of this model, as we reported earlier.
